10 Things Happy People Understand
Our world just seems to be overflowing the messages about what you need in order to be happy. Please note that it seems as if all the things you need are things. Products to make you clean right, smell right, look right, work right, walk right, and even sleep right. However, someone really needs to tell the world that happiness doesn’t come from things. (Well, maybe some things bring happiness, but only temporarily)
Being happy is a skill. Seriously. There are techniques and ways of thinking that can change your life and make you (you guessed it) happy.

1. Happy People Know to Plan Ahead
In order to be happy, you must have a certain amount of control over your life so you will be able to stop feeling like an out of control freight train going downhill. Planning is absolutely essential for getting things done. When you take the time to plan, you ensure that the things you want to get done, well, they get done, and not just the things that are catching your attention. Plan to do those things that are important to you and make choices to spend your limited amount of time, money and energy on it.

2. Happy People Know They are Unique
There might be more than 7 billion people on this planet but there is only one you. There are somewhere between 30-100 trillion cells that come together to create “you”. and the most amazing thing is that these cells will never, ever come together exactly this same way again. You have your own unique gifts to share, your own special perspective, and your uniquely beautiful soul. Don’t let anyone tell you that you are just another face in the crowd.
3. Happy People Go Along with Life
Every one of us has our own destiny to fulfill. You can fight it or just go with it. This doesn’t mean that you sit back and just let things walk over you. You take that hand that you were dealt and you make the best play that you can. Once you start cooperating with life, you will find you are much more motivated. The world wants you to play your part on this stage we call life. You can fight it or you can walk onstage and play your heart out.
4. Happy People Don’t Care What Others Think
Most of us live in a prison of our own making; it’s called “Giving a damn what others think.” You have enough going on in your life without worrying if Mary will tell others that you got a speeding ticket, that Bob will think you’re a drunk if you have a 3rd beer, or that your friends will be jealous if you buy a more expensive car than they drive. You are the one who has to live with YOU. So at the end of the day, while you are lying in bed, how do you feel? Are you satisfied with the things you did? The words you said? (Or didn’t say) If you are, then smile and go to sleep. Let others take care of their lives and you can take care of yours.
5. Happy People Think and Act Positively
