Unwanted hair is an embarrassment for almost everyone, especially for women. If you have decided to get rid of some of your unwanted hair, but you don’t want to do the bleaching, waxing, shaving routine, and you certainly don’t want to shell out hundreds, or even thousands, for lasers, you can save a small fortune by using these home remedies.

We have 10 natural and super easy ways to get rid of that unwanted hair today! Keep reading….

1. Papaya for sensitive skin

Papaya contains an enzyme called papain; it breaks down hair follicles and prohibits hair growth. This is a great way to both get rid of hair while giving your skin some improved texture. Papaya is the remedy you should use if you have sensitive skin.

Peel a papaya and blend some in your blender until you have about 2 tablespoons. Mix ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder in with the papaya until you have a nice paste. Put this paste on your face and massage it in lightly for about 15 minutes. Rinse with clear water. Doing this once a week should keep most face hair from growing back.

2. Egg Mask

This is easier on your skin than wax and it works pretty well. Mix one egg white, 1 tablespoon of sugar, along with a half a tablespoon of corn flour. Beat these items together until they make a smooth paste. Apply this mixture to the section of your face where you want to remove hair. Allow to dry fully; it will look something like a white glue. Now, pull the mask off firmly and your hair should get pulled out with it.

3. Turmeric Wipe

This is a fairly easy one that works well and is great when you only have a small area that you want hairless. Soak a bit of turmeric powder in some water, just enough to make a paste. Apply this paste to the area where you want to remove hair and let it sit until it dries. Now, take a cloth dipped in warm water and wipe the paste off. Both the turmeric and the hair should come off together.

4. Sugar Lemon Mix

Sugar mixed with a little oil or water is a terrific exfoliator and lemon juice is an astringent. Lemon juice will also lighten the color of facial hair. (Read more about using lemons instead of beauty products).

Mix 2 tablespoons of sugar with 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and about 10 tablespoons of water. The sugar will dissolve a bit, but not completely and that’s OK. Apply this mixture to your face in the direction of the hair growth and leave on for about 20 minutes. Now rinse with water while rubbing gently. Do this twice a week and you should see a vast reduction of hair on your face after a few weeks.

5. Thanaka Safflower Mix

Thanaka is a tree and its bark is crushed into a powder. This powder is used in many countries for cosmetic purposes. Thanaka is a yellow-white powder and when it’s mixed with safflower oil, it can get rid of hair permanently.

Mix enough Thanaka powder to cover whatever part of your body where you have unwanted hair. (So just a little for your face, a lot more for your legs) Add safflower oil and make a paste. Apply this mixture to the problem area and leave it on overnight. Wash off in the morning. Use one or twice a week. Now it may take as long as 3 months to get the results you want, but it does work!

6. Rosewater Alum Mix

This is a traditional recipe used by the women of Pakistan and India to remove unwanted hair. You can find alum powder in many healthy food stores or you can even buy a rock of alum and grind it yourself.

Add ½ teaspoon of alum powder to about 3 tablespoons of rose water. Mix it as well as you can, dissolving the alum as much as you can. Dab a cotton ball into this mixture and then dab it on the problem area. Wait until it dies, then apply again. Repeat this process for about 30 minutes. If your skin feels irritated, stop and apply again in a few days. Wash off, and then apply a bit of cream or olive oil to the area to soothe the skin and reduce irritation. Repeat this 2 or 3 times per week until the hair falls out.

7. Sugar Molasses “Wax”

Mix about one cup of sugar and enough molasses to cover the sugar. Add the juice of half a lemon. Place this mixture in the microwave for 2 or 3 minutes until it heats up and the sugar dissolves. If the sugar hasn’t completely dissolved, put it back in the microwave for another few minutes. Once the sugar is fully mixed with the molasses, allow the mixture to cool just a bit. You want it hot enough that you can spread it, but not so hot it burns your skin.

Apply this mixture to the problem area with your hands. Place a strip of cloth over the top and press down. Once the mixture is completely cool, pull the cloth. The hair should come right off.

If you have dry skin, this is the perfect way to remove hair. Banana will leave your skin soft while oatmeal is super hydrating.

9. Camphor White Pepper (for legs)

Both camphor and white pepper are powerful agents that might be too strong for sensitive skin, so don’t use this on your face. For your legs, however, this works like a charm.

Mix about 2 tablespoons of white pepper with 2 tablespoons of camphor. Add two or three drops of almond oil and mix again. This should look like a paste. If it’s too dry, add a few more drops of almond oil. Spread this paste on your legs and leave on for about 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water. All the hair should be gone, if not, repeat one more time.

10. Egg Mask Facial

This is another great mask that not only moisturizes your skin but should pull off the hair with it.

Mix one egg white with one tablespoon of sugar. Add ½ tablespoon of corn flour to this mixture and mix well. Apply this paste to your face and let dry. This will leave a thin mask on your face. Pull firmly so that the hair comes off with the mask. Don’t rip at it, just pull gently and watch the hair pull right off.
