4. Great Granola

Although granola should be a healthy food, many of the prepared granolas at your supermarket are full of preservatives, sugar, excess salt, and soy oil. You can mix up this granola in advance and keep some frozen so you can dish it out anytime.

Dry Ingredients:

  • ½ Cup of Palm Sugar
  • ½ Cup of Sliced Almonds or Pumpkin Seeds
  • 2 Cups of Quinoa Flakes
  • ½ Cup of Unsweetened Shredded Coconut
  • ½ Teaspoon of Sea Salt
  • ½ Cup of Organic Goji Berries
  • ¼ Teaspoon of Vanilla Bean
  • 1 Tablespoon of Maca Powder

Wet Ingredients:

  • ½ Cup of Fresh Organic Blueberries
  • ½ to ¾ Cup of Melted Coconut Oil ( just enough to cover the dry ingredients)
  • 10 Drops of Liquid Stevia

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl then spread out in a freezer safe container about 3 inches thick and freeze. Break off chunks as desired for super great tasting snacks.

5. Power Bites

When your kids are just looking for something to pop in their mouths, and feel satisfied, give them some of these power bites. These will give them some sustainable energy while giving them some serious vitamins and minerals.

  • ½ Cup of Hemp Hearts
  • ¼ Teaspoon of Sea Salt
  • ¾ Cup of Brazil Nuts
  • ¾ Cup of Walnuts
  • 1 Teaspoon of Maca
  • ½ Cup of Pitted Dates ( firmly packed)
  • ½ Cup of Shelled Sunflower Seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon of Spirulina or other type of green superfood powder
  • 2 Tablespoons of Bee Pollen
  • ¼ Cup of Cacao Nibs

Place the sunflower seeds, maca, salt, dates, and spirulina in a food processor until they make a sticky paste. Remove and place in a separate mixing bowl. Process the walnuts and Brazil nuts until crumbly and add them to the mixing bowl with the other mixture. Add the cacao nibs and hemp hearts into the bowl and mix thoroughly by hand. This will be thick and sticky so you might have to use your hands to mix it well enough. Add bee pollen last. Roll up into small balls about 2 inches in diameter. Store these in an airtight container inside the refrigerator. These should keep for about 2 weeks.
