Many brands of “olive oil” are actually heavily diluted with cheaper oils like soybean, corn and sunflower oil. Some of these cheaper oils are polyunsaturated fats, which are actually very unhealthy. In order to make sure you are getting the real thing, only purchase high-quality oils from reputable brands. If you have the option to purchase oil from a local farm, go with that option.
