9. Cold Compress
If you find that your breasts are tender, or even painful, apply a cold compress. This will cause the breast tissue to contract, which should reduce both pain and swelling. Wrap an ice pack or a bag of frozen peas in a clean towel and apply to the breasts for 1 minute, then remove for 2 minutes. Repeat until you get relief.
