5. Coughing

If you have a cough that brings up blood that is an immediate sign that you need to see your doctor immediately.

It’s normal for most people to have a bit of a lingering cough after you have had a cold or the flu but if you aren’t seeing improvement in the cough or if you develop a dry cough that didn’t accompany the flu, and it doesn’t go away after 2 weeks, see your doctor.

Many types of lung cancer start as a simple, nagging cough that just won’t go away. Also, if you find you become hoarse and it continues for more than 2 weeks, you will want to see your doctor as soon as possible.
