Parasites are a fairly common problem, even in America. Most Americans think that there is no way that they could become infected. They live in one of the richest countries in the world, don’t they? Aren’t strict food and health codes followed?

Well, yes and no. There are strict food and health codes; the problem is that, due to a lack of funding, less than 1 percent of food products are actually tested. Also, because of the global food market, you can buy produce regardless of whether it is seasonal or not, such as strawberries in December. Some imported foods are contaminated with parasites and when you consume them, you can become infested with ugly, crawling, eating, breeding parasites and never even know it.

Even the CDC admits that many Americans are affected and are completely unaware of it. In fact, the CDC says that about 300,000 people become infected by the trypanosome cruzi parasite that causes Chaga disease, a debilitating disease that results in a lifetime of brain and heart problems. American hospitals reported more than 1,000 cases of tapeworms every single year, and the cat poop parasite, toxoplasma gondii, infects about 60 million people in the US every year.

The staggering amount of parasites that can infect us is mind boggling, not including the harm that they can cause. Getting rid of a parasitic infestation can become a lifelong struggle and they can lead to seizures, blindness, heart failure, even death.

It’s been estimated that about 1/3 of the general population is contaminated with some type of parasite. Although we have used the word “herbs,” some of these are actually foods and other things, but you get the idea.

Don’t let some ugly little life sucking parasite take a hold of your body! Check out some of the best ways you can eliminate parasites from your body and remove any doubt that you, or one of your family members, are infected.

1.  Papaya Seeds

The Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine and the Maryland Medical Center both state that studies show papaya seeds are a great way to get rid of parasites. In one study which involved 30 subjects, a combination of honey and papaya seeds cleared all parasites from the body in 23 out of the 30 subjects. You’ve probably eaten papaya before but never considered the seeds. They have a slightly peppery flavor to them, but they aren’t strong. You can simply chew them right from the fruit, or sprinkle them over your salads or other vegetable dishes, much the same way you would use pumpkin seeds.

2.  Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous earth is super effective at absorbing E. coli, viruses, endotoxins, methyl mercury, and pesticide and drug residues. It is also very effective at killing internal parasites, absorbing all sorts of toxins, and improving the intestinal flora. The only side effect is that this fine powder can irritate the lungs if you inhale it. Be careful when handling it and always get food grade diatomaceous earth! Find out 8 things you never knew about diatomaceous earth.

3. Garlic

Garlic is the anti-bad whatever! Doesn’t matter what it is, it seems as if garlic can kill it: viruses, bacteria, cancer, bacteria, vampires, oh yes, and parasites! This herb is almost unbelievable at what it can do. It can remove heavy metals from the body as well as stop those blood sucking parasites fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and mother-in-laws. OK, maybe not that last one, but don’t you wish it could?

I’ve been eating a teaspoon of raw pumpkin seeds every morning before breakfast:
