10. Flax Seeds
Flax seeds are another natural substance that are high in phytoestrogens, which makes these another good solution for hot flashes. The Mayo Clinic conducted a study in 2007 which had 29 women consume 1.5 ounces of crushed flax seed each day over a 6 week study period. At the end of the study, all of the women stated that their hot flashes were reduced by 50 percent and the severity of their symptoms dropped by about 57 percent. Flax seeds will also help to reduce chills, improve your mood, and reduce joint pain. Flax seeds must be ground to release their active ingredients. Try to add 1.5 ounces of flax seeds to your food each day.
11. Sage
This is an age-old remedy for hot flashes and night sweats. Sage tea can actually go a long way towards reducing the symptoms of hot flashes. Sage contains tannins and flavonoids that encourage overall health. Drink two or three cups of sage tea each to reduce night sweats and hot flashes.
