Flax seeds are terrific cancer fighters, especially when you grind fresh seeds yourself. Flax seeds must be ground to release their anti-cancer compounds but once ground, they can go rancid quickly. The best way to use flax seeds is to purchase them whole and keep them in a sealed container. Grind only what you plan to eat each day to avoid spoilage.
