4. Cream Based Salad Dressings

Many people turn to salads when trying to lose weight or eat healthier meals and salads can be great for both of these reasons. Unfortunately, many people take an otherwise healthy, low calorie salad and pour a ton of creamy salad dressing over it, completely ruining their intentions.

Cream based salad dressings contain everything you want to avoid such as sugar, salt, fats, and excessive calories. One of the problems with salad dressings is portion size. If you read the labels, most portion sizes are listed at 2 tablespoons, which is such a small amount it’s highly unlikely that anyone uses that little on an average salad. If you are thinking that low fat dressings are better for you, think again. Salad dressings that are low in fat typically use sugar to improve the flavor and they can actually prevent the body from absorbing the carotenoid antioxidants in the tomatoes and greens. Your body needs some fat in order to absorb those good nutrients that your body needs.

For the healthiest salad, look for dressings that contain the smallest amount of ingredients. These will usually be oil based dressings. Or you might try to use plain lemon juice.

does the popcorn info apply to the ones that just come in a jar of only kernels that have had nothing done to them, so you can butter/salt them to your liking. also with any of the noodles you just mean the insta-noodles not the kind that almost a billion people eat.
