Yep, your mom was right; eating broccoli is good for you. The compounds found in cruciferous vegetables, sulforaphanes, appear to selectively target cancer cells and prevent cancer from spreading. This is something that no chemotherapy in the world can do, but foods like broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower do with ease.
