27. Garlic

This is another food that seems to get all the attention, and for good reason! Garlic has been used for thousands of years as both medicine and a flavor enhancer. It’s also terrific because it alkalizes the body. Garlic is always listed among cancer preventing foods, but it can also fight heart disease, lower blood pressure, and detoxify the body. All that in one little clove of garlic. Garlic should be slightly crushed or cut to get as many of the health benefits as possible.

28. Ginger

Most Americans only know ginger from gingersnaps, but this has been changing over the last five or six years. Ginger root is a super food that can do so much for the body, including being an alkaline-forming food. Try ginger tea and you will never go back to drinking plain old water ever again.

29. Mustard Greens

You might have noticed that there are plenty of greens on this list. This is because green veggies, especially leafy green veggies, are all super alkalizing foods. You might have never tried mustard greens, but they have plenty of health benefits as well as powerful anti-cancer compounds that make them a must for just about everyone. If you aren’t sure how to use them, there are tons of recipes online.

30. Limes

Almost everyone has heard that lemons are super alkalizing, but not nearly as many people know that limes are as well. Add limes to your water, drizzle the juice over salads, or try some lime juice on top of pork meat, cantaloupes, or honeydew for a unique flavor you will adore.

31. Collard Greens

These are the staple of soul food, and if you have not tried them yet, you are missing out! Since it is a leafy green, it packs a powerful alkaline punch. However, collard greens are also a major threat to cancer. Collard greens are full of vitamin A and anti-aging antioxidants, so you might want to learn how to cook them, or eat more of them if you are already a fan of the flavor.

The photo that you have used on the front of the top 35 alkaline foods is misleading and a typical advertising ploy as ripe bananas is not on the list yet you have chosen to put it in the visual display. That is unethical and wrong to do that.
