8. Instead of Soda Pop

Perhaps you heard about the recent study that was published in May in the American Journal of Nutrition? It found that people who consumed more than one soda per day had a higher risk of stroke than people who did not drink sodas.  Loaded with sugar, sodas are an empty source of calories that cause weight gain and contribute to the nationwide epidemic of obesity.

Drinking large amounts of this rapidly digested sugar causes your blood sugar to spike which can lead to both inflammation and insulin resistance. Soda is often the root cause of gastro-esophageal reflux disease, which is when the contents of the stomach leak into the esophagus causing not only pain but an actual burning of the esophagus from stomach acid.Although sodas are not a direct cause of ulcers, they are known to irritate and make those with ulcers have more pain. Sodas also contain artificial colorings and food chemicals like derivative 4-methylimidazole (4-MI); no wonder soda pop has been shown to cause cancer. Are you ready to kick the soda pop habit?

There are many great alternatives to drinking soda that are both healthy and will save you a fortune once you kick the habit. First, make your own flavored water. Simply add slices of your favorite organic fruits to a pitcher of water (add ice as you prefer) and there you have it! Try cucumbers, mint, oranges, watermelon, peaches, or limes. The possibilities are almost endless. You can also drink green tea.

Studies show that green tea can protect you from kidney stones, heart disease, and several types of cancer as well as being high in antioxidants. Green tea is available in many flavors and can be drunk hot or cold. Here’s one to please the kiddies, Jeltzer. These are easy to make, simply mix 100 percent pure, organic fruit juice with seltzer water for a flavorful “soda” that is completely natural and tastes as good as, or better than, store bought sodas.

Nice. Reminds me of your “Top 20 Dangerous Foods You Absolutely Must Avoid” article.

Stevia was a good option. But Monsanto Food Czar, Michael Taylor, at the FDA allowed Neotame, worst than aspartame, to be added to stevia and other sweeteners or sweet products, with the consumers not needing to know.

Neotame is highly toxic to the brain–central nervous system.

You do fail to realize that 90% of the world cannot afford to eat this way, though. Or if you do realize it, article author, you evidently don’t care.

How about avoiding something yourself, hmm? Like mentioning a family of four has to take out a second mortgage to eat for a year on your “recommendations”.

Gosh, we must live on different planets. So, in your world is instead of costing less to cook popcorn on the stovetop it costs more so you have to eat microwave popcorn instead? Sad. I would consider not eating popcorn at all.

Except, gosh, I don’t even eat popcorn. You’re irrelevant.

Nicki, your whole tone is snarky, snippy, tacky, attacking and inflammatory. What gives you the right to such bad behavior? This article was for YOU and ME and those who live in a society that offers these choices. Why would you bring issues here where that isn’t the focus, but rather YOUR good health is?

Look and read before you make that verbal leap. So, you don’t like the advise, send your unwanted food to a starving family that is in that inflated 90% stat you tout.
Give it a rest. This was not to cure the starving in countries whose governments rape the land, and oh, yes, the people. Get a fix on issue at hand, and take those well meaning sentiments to the proper forum, PLEASE.
What’s wrong with DISCRETION when it’s useful? People today blather way too much, and I’m sad to say, your comments are precisely that. Context is everything to achieve an audience where you points will be valid.

DISCRETION is the quality of having or showing discernment and good
judgment. And your bologna about “You do fail to realize” is condescending, patronizing and abjectly ignorant. You can have no possible basis for assuming what this author does or does not know. Stop showing your assine mind set.

      I believe you meant “asinine”.

And do be a lamb and use proper grammar if you want someone who graduated high school to attempt to translate your comments, would you?

Bad behavior. I scoff at your own definition of such, when you’re really just being a cunt.

Darling, just because my spelling wasn’t perfect, and I’m so surprised you didn’t catch “advise” which should have been advice, doesn’t mean jack to me nor change my message. Nitpicking is just passive aggressive bs. I’m not surprised you resort to it. And neither does your opinion of my education level which is none of your business and a perfect example of your tactics. As for calling me names like cunt, well. There you go. And my grammar is far better than yours. *shakes head, shrugs shoulders*

I eat what I want,When I want and I don’t fear any of the Diseases that have all of You running to the Doctor like scared little Sheep because they have You all terrified of Death.
Everything You fear keeps the River of Cash flowing into Their over flowing Bank accounts.

This list of things to avoid I totally agree. I never eat anything it that fashion. The simple decision about what to eat is as close a you can find to how God created it. Any change is a defect.
