5. Make It Yourself Magnesium Bath Salts

This is an easy way be sure everyone in the family gets their magnesium levels. Have hubby and the kids soak in a magnesium bath salt bath for about 30 minutes once or twice a week.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of magnesium flakes or Epsom salts (the magnesium flakes are much more easily absorbed by the body but Epsom salts will work)
  • ½ cup sea salt or Himalayan salt
  • ½ teaspoon real vanilla extract
  • 10 to 15 drops essential oil of choice (try lavender and mint, it’s heavenly!)

Instructions:

  • Mix the salt and magnesium flakes (or Epsom salt) in a bowl, and then add the vanilla and essential oil. Mix well, and then add to the bath when it’s about half full. Give it a good swish around the tub to be sure that is mixed in well.
  • Soak for at least 20 minutes, and 30 minutes is even better.

    These do-it-yourself recipe suggestions sound great, but lazy moi would rather stick to eating magnesium-rich foods.
