4. Popcorn

Most people think popcorn is unhealthy, but it isn’t. It’s what we put on popcorn that makes it bad for us. Popcorn is actually a whole grain, something most people are unaware of. Low in calories but high in fiber, popcorn can have numerous health benefits, including a reduced risk of diabetes and heart disease, and improved digestion. Most people think that only tomatoes have this compound, but watermelons are a more concentrated source of this antioxidant. A meta-analysis done in 2014 found that lycopene lowers the risk of stroke by more 19 percent. Watermelon also has powerful anti-cancer compounds. To top it all off, is there anything better than a juicy watermelon on a hot summer day? Eat up!

Dark chocolate of high quality has been linked in numerous studies to more than 40 different health benefits. The trick to dark chocolate is to not overindulge.
