7.  Ginger

This spice has plenty of antimicrobial compounds which will help kill off viral or bacterial infections. It is also soothing to your throat, relieving both pain and inflammation. Make your own ginger tea by boiling 2 teaspoons of grated ginger root in 2 cups of boiling water. Boil this until it reduces down to 1 cup of water. Strain, add two teaspoons of raw, organic honey, and drink three times each day. If you really like the taste of ginger, you can cut up some fresh ginger root and suck on the pieces during the day to allow the juice to relieve the pain and inflammation in your throat as well.

 

8. Honey

Raw, organic honey has powerful antibacterial compounds that can help to kill infections, soothe the throat, and clear out any mucus blockage as it eases inflammation. Eat one tablespoon of honey 4 times each day at regular intervals. Always be sure that you are using raw, organic honey and not the junk from the supermarket.

 

9. Garlic
