Surely by now you have read articles or seen videos that talk about the dangers of fluoride. Although you will hear statements from health and local authorities that fluoride is safe and natural, this isn’t the case. It’s true that calcium fluoride from natural wells or other water sources are natural, but even this natural source of fluoride can become dangerous if the fluoride level is too high. However, we aren’t talking about a natural source of fluoride, but rather the sodium fluoride that is being added to many municipal drinking water sources. This type of fluoride is extremely unsafe, as it accumulates in bone and soft tissue as well as the brain, and has serious health consequences. Read more about 10 shocking places you would never expect to find fluoride.

Sodium fluoride, the type added to many public water sources, is full of cadmium, lead, and aluminum as well. Is it any wonder why the IQ test scores of American children continue to fall every year as Alzheimer’s rates climb? Sodium fluoride weakens the immune system and causes damage to the liver and kidneys. Some of the symptoms of sodium fluoride overdose are very similar to the symptoms of fibromyalgia: abdominal pain, diarrhea, fatigue, muscle pain, insomnia, memory loss, and increased thirst.

Fluoride can help prevent cavities, however, most people get all the fluoride they need in their toothpaste and/or mouthwash. We do not need to be drinking excessive amounts in tap water. Not only that, but fluoride is also in prescription drugs. You should consider this as well: crops are also dusted with fluoride as it is an excellent fumigant and pesticide. Fluoride is in infant formula, bottle water, and even in some of those “natural” home insecticides.

There has been so much research in this area, showing the dangers of sodium fluoride being added to public water supplies, that even the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, as well as the EPA, have taken notice. Although these governmental agencies have taken a step in the right direction, lowering the limit of what is considered to be “safe” levels of fluoride, there really is no safe level and no one should be happy until fluoride is completely eliminated from municipal water supplies.

Limiting our intake of fluoride should be on everyone’s “to do” list, as well as detoxing and removing this dangerous chemical from our bodies. First, let’s look at the best ways to cut our consumption of fluoride down to the absolute minimum.

Avoid Fluoride

1. Purify Your Water

First off, you should know that those pitcher types of filters, such as Pur or Brita, do NOT remove fluoride. Drinking distilled water is not good for your health either as it lacks vital vitamins and minerals. The natural minerals in water are even more important than the vitamins. You can re-mineralize your distilled water by simply adding just a pinch of sea salt per pint.

Alternately, you could buy a reverse osmosis water filter in your home. If this option is too expensive then using one of those reverse osmosis water purifiers that are found in many conventional supermarkets and almost all health food stores is another way to do this.

Sodium fluoride often replaces the iodine that your thyroid gland needs in order to work properly. Be certain that you are supplementing your diet with some food grade iodine.

2. Choose Organic

Yet another reason to choose organic foods is that these are not sprayed with fluoride salts as a means of pesticide control. Avoid soymilk as these products contain high levels of sodium fluoride. You might want to consider changing to a nut milk, such as almond milk. Overly processed foods and drinks, such as grape juice, usually contain high levels of sodium fluoride.

3. Read Labels

Although it isn’t always printed, some labels do list sodium fluoride. Many brands of baby or infant formula, for example, will now list in large letters that they contain NO fluoride. If it doesn’t, you should check that label carefully. Anything containing soy or corn will not only be GMO, but it will most likely contain fluoride as well. Also, read water bottle labels as some of these contain fluoride as well.

You will need to detox and remove the fluoride that is present in your body. There are several ways to do this so you might want to try to do more than one of the following to assist your body in removing this dangerous chemical. Fluoride is often stored in fat, which will be the most difficult place to remove it from, but if you focus and practice some of the following tips, you can do it.

Detox from Fluoride

1. Tamarind

This tree has long been used in Ayurvedic medicine for detoxification purposes. The fruit is difficult to find in the US, but the pulp, bark, and leaves are often sold, dried, in many Hispanic stores or in health food stores as a tea. Tamarind removes fluoride through urine.

2. Dry Saunas

Using a dry sauna, such as an infrared sauna, will help to release the fluoride that is stored in fat. Be sure to drink plenty of fluoride free water and consume a high quality calcium/magnesium supplement to replace the minerals that are lost through sweat.

3. Niacin

Niacin (not niacinamide), especially when taken before a sauna, can help to break up the fats and release the fluoride so that it can be expelled from the body. Do not take niacin if you have any type of liver problem.

4. Vitamin C

Repeated doses of vitamin C will help remove not only sodium fluoride, but other heavy metals from the body. Start with 1,00mg and add about 500mg each day until you begin to experience diarrhea, then back off by 500mg until your bowels are normal again.

5. Exercise

This is another way to remove fluoride from the body through sweat. It works well at removing fluoride that has accumulated in fatty tissues as well. Be sure that you are exercising hard enough to work up a good sweat and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluoride free water.

6. Magnesium

Most Americans have a magnesium deficiency and this provides you with even more reason to increase your consumption of magnesium. This vital mineral inhibits the absorption of fluoride into the cells of the body. This way, if you are consuming fluoride and are unaware of it, taking magnesium will help to stop your body from absorbing it.

7. Boron

Boron is a very effective way to remove fluoride from the body; the problem is finding pure boron. Most of the boron you purchase in a grocery store has added perfumes in it. If you can find pure boron, you can successfully remove fluoride from your body by simply adding about ¼ teaspoon in one liter of water and drink this each day.

8. Liver Cleanse

These are also a great way to remove not just fluoride, but other toxins that build up in your liver. Most liver cleanses take about 10 days to 2 weeks to do a thorough job. You can also use chelation therapy if you prefer that to a liver cleanse, both work very well.

“Fluoride can help prevent cavities, however, most people get all the fluoride they need in their toothpaste and/or mouthwash.” Perhaps those “most people” could — at least for starters –use toothpaste that doesn’t contain fluoride. Same with mouthwash, if they think they even need it.

“Avoid soymilk as these products contain high levels of sodium fluoride.” Are you saying that, for instance, Westsoy’s organic, unsweetened soymilk — which claims it consists of nothing but filtered water and whole organic soybeans — also includes “high levels of sodium fluoride”? And they don’t need to put this info on their container?
