3. Super Gentle Vanilla Liquid Hand Soap
This is a super gentle soap that you can use for little ones, as it contains no essential oils that might irritate delicate skin. As always, test for sensitivity on a small area before using, just to be on the safe side.
Ingredients:
- 1 Bar of pure Castile soap, 5 ounces
- ½ Gallon of distilled water
- Pure vanilla extract (not imitation)

Instructions:
- Grate the bar of soap using a regular kitchen grater. The smaller the pieces the faster it will melt.
- Heat the water until it reaches a gentle boil, then turn down the heat to medium.
- Begin to slowly add the grated soap. Add a bit at a time until everything is dissolved in the water. Be patient, this sometimes takes a little while.
- Remove from the heat and allow to thicken.
- Stir it every now and then. Your soap will take about 8 to 10 hours to thicken up.
- Stir in your vanilla extract. Start with one tablespoon then you can add more if you would like your soap to have a slightly stronger scent.
- Pour into your containers.
