14. Carrots

Good for the eyes, it’s true, but carrots are super alkaline-forming too! One of the great things about carrots is that they don’t lose their nutritional value, or their alkalizing value, once they have been cooked. If you enjoy them cooked because they are sweeter, feel free to add them as a side dish or cook in soups or casseroles. If you enjoy them raw and crunchy, that’s good too!

15. Red Beans

Sometimes called kidney beans, these kinds of beans are another great alkalizer for the body, and you should make them a part of your meal plan at least once a week. Red beans, like all beans, are a great source of vitamin C, protein, and iron.

16. Celery

Who doesn’t love the crunchy, fresh flavor of celery? Its low in calories, helps to detoxify the body, and is an alkalizing food — all in one thin stalk! If you don’t like the strings that can get between your teeth, cut it up into smaller pieces and put it in salads, soups, rice, or smoothies.

17. Quinoa

Not that long ago, quinoa was almost unheard of in America. Quinoa is now coming into its own, and it is one of the healthiest foods on the planet. This food is so versatile, so easy to make, and it has more vitamins and minerals than you can shake a stick at. The cherry on the top, so to speak, is that it also an alkalizing food choice. By the way, quinoa is a seed, not a grain, so there is no gluten to worry about.

18. Chives

Chives are the green tops of white onions and if you have not tried these super alkalizing veggies, you are in for a real treat. They are peppery but not overpowering. Try them in your salads, on top of just about any food dish, or grill them, along with onion itself, for a super tasty, super alkalizing treat.

19. Pomegranates

Pomegranate juice is one of the most popular fruit juices because it does so much for the urinary tract as well as containing vitamin C and potassium. In addition to all that, pomegranates are an alkaline-forming food. If you like this fruit, enjoy it to your heart’s content, but most people find it is easier to drink the juice. Just keep your eye out for pure juice because most pomegranate juices contain tons of sugar.

The photo that you have used on the front of the top 35 alkaline foods is misleading and a typical advertising ploy as ripe bananas is not on the list yet you have chosen to put it in the visual display. That is unethical and wrong to do that.
