10. Prevents anemia

Kombucha contains a number of organic acids in it that change over the trivalent iron compounds that are derived from plants to divalent ions from iron. The iron absorption is greatly enhanced thanks to the vitamin C that is in the kombucha.

11. Strengthens joints

The glucosamines that are a part of kombucha are able to work towards not only healing the joints but preventing and repairing existing joint damage. The glucosamine from the tea also works towards preventing pain from arthritis and preserves collagen in the body.

12. Antibacterial that prevents infections

As an antibacterial agent, kombucha is able to effectively fight off many infectious diseases like:

  • Typhoid
  • Scarlet fever
  • Diphtheria
  • Dysentery
  • Paratyphoid fever
  • Influenza

13. Helps with digestion

Because kombucha is fermented it consists of a live grouping of yeast and bacteria. It works just like a probiotic in maintaining the health of the gut as well as giving relief from disorders of the abdomen such as diarrhea and chronic constipation. The enzymes that are in the kombucha help to assist the saccharides and proteins which result in the digestive system becoming more efficient.

14. Reduces cholesterol

The components that make up kombucha tea make it effective in maintaining normal cholesterol levels. The tea has anti-lipidemic properties that lower the absorption of triglycerides and the bad cholesterol and raise the good cholesterol levels.

15. Reduces pain of arthritis

The glucosamines that are present in kombucha are able to treat and prevent all kinds of arthritis. They stimulate the creation of hyaluronic acid, a substance that gives you relief from arthritic pain and maintains the structure of cartilage. The acid cuts down on the damage caused by free radicals, keeps your joints lubricated, and allows the joints to have more elasticity.

You have to make sure that kombucha tea is prepared properly to avoid any health issues. You can make it yourself but it would be safer to buy it already prepared at a health food store. Make sure it does not contain more than the limited 3% of alcohol. It should also not be over-fermented or you could end up becoming extremely ill.
