This Metal is Poisoning Our Brains and Causing Alzheimer’s

As we mentioned previously, aluminum is in almost everything we consume today. Some municipal water supplies add aluminum sulfate to tap water so that it looks clearer, and you will think it must be clean. Many processed foods that contain flour, such as cookies, cakes, and bread, often use aluminum as a means of making their products rise, the way yeast does.

Food coloring, wine, tea, fizzy drinks, sunscreen, cosmetics, cocoa, wine, antacids, toothpaste, and many pharmaceuticals such as over the counter antacids and aspirin products, all contain aluminum. In fact, a lesser known, but very concerning source of aluminum is in soy-based infant formulas. Soybeans accumulate high levels of aluminum because they accumulate it from the soil in which they are grown. A 2010 study published in the journal BMC Pediatrics showed that the average content of aluminum in infant formulas was quite high, especially for a product that is intended for preterm infants.

When examining the brains of subjects who have died of Alzheimer’s, the brain is shrunken in appearance and there is a definite loss of nerve tissue. Under a microscope, small bundles of compounds called senile plaques are found throughout the tissue of the brain. The more plaque, the worse the mental condition of the patient. Chemical analysis of the plaque reveals the presence of aluminum at the core of each senile plaque. This only adds to the mounting evidence that aluminum is somehow involved in the formation of plaque.

Normal intake of aluminum is between 3 to 5mg each day. Only a small amount of this is absorbed by the body, the remainder is generally expelled through the kidneys. Some people, however, seem to absorb more aluminum than others. Of course not everyone who has been fed for a lifetime on aluminum pots and pans ends up with dementia, but the fact remains that Alzheimer’s disease is on the rise and autopsies show that subjects with dementia have more aluminum in their brains than most people. Avoid cookware that contains aluminum. Glass, cast iron, and porcelain are all great choices. You can also choose stainless steel or copper cookware. All are excellent alternatives to aluminum.

I’m kinda big on cast iron pots and pans.

This has been known about aluminum for a while now.

You should mention the health effects of teflon and other “non-stick” pans that are part of the no-fat craze. .
