3. Citrus Fruits

The vitamins and minerals in many fruits are an important step in any detoxification plan. Choose fruits that are super high in antioxidants and vitamin C, which improves the immune system. Some of the best choices for your liver are berries (all kinds), papaya, oranges, pineapple, grapefruit, lemon, and kiwi. Drinking a glass of warm water and organic lemon juice every morning on an empty stomach is the best way to get a head start on supporting your liver function.

4. Herbs

Garlic is an herb that can do a great deal for your liver. The sulfur compounds in garlic stimulate your liver to make more enzymes. Besides encouraging your liver to produce more enzymes, the alllicin and selenium in garlic actually protect the liver from damage. Cilantro is another healthy herb that helps the body remove heavy metal contamination. Milk thistle and St. Mary’s thistle are also two herbs that are known to help protect the liver from things like alcohol and prescription drugs.

5. Spices and Other Foods

Adding more turmeric to your diet is perhaps one of the best ways to both clean and protect your liver. Turmeric is highly anti-inflammatory and has been documented as being able to encourage the liver to regenerate itself. Walnuts are another food item that you should be consuming every day if you wish to help your liver detox the body. Walnuts support normal liver cleansing actions and aid the liver in removing ammonia from the body with its amino acid arginine.

If you still wish, of course you can always do liver cleanse/detox programs, but keep in mind that your body is always talking to you, telling you, what it wants and what it needs. Learning to listen to your body so that you can give it what it needs is an amazing talent, a tool, which you can use to empower your body’s natural detox system.

You guys need to fix the “email” button. Nothing happens after you click on it. I’ve been trying to use it for weeks now and all it does is up the number…which I just raised to 101 to get your attention!
