5. Mean Detoxifying Green Soup
Spinach is the basis for this soup. Not only is it one of the most nutritious soups around, it has powerful detoxifying agents. This is a soup you will love so much, you will probably make it even when you aren’t doing a cleanse.
Ingredients:
- 1 Pound of fresh, organic green beans, chopped
- 8 Organic celery stalks, sliced
- 4 Pounds of organic zucchini, chopped
- 2 Bunches of organic baby spinach
- 1 Organic onion, any variety, chopped
- 5 Cloves of organic garlic, peeled and chopped
- 1 Bunch of organic basil leaves
- 1 Bunch of organic parsley
- 1 Liter of water
Instructions:
- Steam the celery, zucchini, and green beans until very tender, about 15 minutes.
- Add the water, onion, spinach, and garlic to a large soup pot.
- Cook over low heat for about 20 minutes.
- Add the steamed vegetables and bring to a low boil.
- Cook on low for another 25 minutes.
- Add the parsley and basil.
- If you like your soup thicker, you can puree this or use less water.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Enjoy!
