Many people affected with Lyme disease often see several doctors, searching for an explanation of their symptoms; joint aches, muscle pains, headaches, memory problem, even sleep disorders. They are frequently misdiagnosed. Many symptoms of Lyme disease are caused by the inflammatory molecules in the body. These same molecules are also produced when we eat foods that we are extremely sensitive to, or have an allergy to.

An allergic reaction to certain foods can affect the respiratory tract, the skin, the gastrointestinal tract, even the cardiovascular system. Reactions can be either mild or severe, or anything in between. Symptoms usually appear within minutes, although sometimes it can be several hours.

1. Soon after eating, you feel tired or begin yawning continually

If you feel anxious, shaky, or dizzy, perhaps even to the point where you think you might pass out, or just an overwhelming feeling that you need a nap, this is often a sign that you are hypoglycemic.

2. If you develop gas, bloating, excessive belching, or diarrhea after eating

Although there are many causes for these symptoms, the first one you should consider is a gluten sensitivity, lactose intolerance, or fructose intolerance.

Try eliminating these things one at a time and see if you feel better.

3.  Chronic Headaches or Migraines

If you have a headache soon after waking up, or several hours after eating, this is often due to food sensitivities which are acting as migraine headache triggers or they are triggering a hypoglycemic response.

Keep a food diary and write down every single thing you eat, and then take notes of when you get headaches.

After several weeks, see if you can see a pattern between something you are eating and your headaches.

4.  Chronic Constipation

If you experience chronic constipation, even after drinking sufficient amounts of water (a minimum of 2 liters per day) and avoiding different types of food that causes constipation, then this could be due to a lack of magnesium or something in your diet that you are sensitive to.

Again, keep a food diary and see if you can find a correlation between your bouts of constipation and the foods you are eating.

5.  If you suffer from muscle or joint pain after eating

This pain could be brief, intermittent or a longer lasting type of pain. This could be an inflammatory response to food(s) you are eating.
