We all know that some foods aren’t good for us, but you probably had no idea that some things you are most likely consuming every day, or at least on a regular basis, are more than just not good for you, they are literally killing you. 1. How Wheat is Killing You

There are ugly little compounds called AGEs that increase the aging process, giving you wrinkled skin, as well as causing damage to your organs and joints. What causes these AGEs to be produced inside the body? High blood sugar levels over long periods of time increase the amount of AGEs. This is why many diabetics look much older than their years.
Wheat actually contains a special type of carbohydrate that you won’t find in any other food called Amylopectin-A, which spikes blood sugar levels even higher than plain old white sugar. In fact, this carb will spike your blood sugar higher than almost any other food on the planet. This means common foods such as sandwich bread, bagels, cereal, muffins, and other baked goods cause much higher blood sugar levels.
Higher spikes in blood sugar also cause your body to produce more insulin, which causes you to pile on the pounds. Over time, these huge spikes in blood sugar literally wear out your pancreas, causing insulin resistance and, over time, diabetes.
Wheat also contains compounds called phytates, which block the absorption of minerals such as iron, manganese, calcium, and zinc, when consumed over long periods of time. Think about how much wheat most people consume in an average day: cereal, bagels, or toast for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, pasta or bread with dinner. Over time, this can cause a serious mineral deficiency.
2. How Sugar is Killing You
Although most people know sugar is bad, they keep eating it anyway. Why? Besides the fact that it’s addictive, most people don’t really understand exactly why it’s so bad. For example, most people think that if they indulge in a piece of pie at dinner, they can just “burn off” that sugar the next day at the gym with a few extra minutes of exercise.

3. How Vegetable Oil is Killing You
Although you might think that anything that includes the word “vegetable” is healthy, that is not the case with these oils. Many of these oils are based on GMO foods, which, in our book, aren’t really vegetables at all. Soybean oil, corn oil, canola oil, and cotton seed oil are all GMO, to start with.
They also all contain trans-fats. You have probably been hearing about the dangers of trans-fats your entire life, and guess what? They are all true! Trans-fats damage your body right down to your cells, and this leads to everything from heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, cancer, and Alzheimer’s.
When these vegetable oils are being refined, they create free radicals. Free radicals are something you don’t want in your body. Free radicals damage our DNA and drastically speed up the aging process. Free radicals also cause damage to the arteries in the body, which can lead to heart disease, or a heart attack.
Inflammation in the body is a major root cause of many diseases. Vegetable oils increase inflammation in the body because they have unnaturally high levels of omega-6 fatty acids, and almost none of the anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids. A healthy ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 is 2 to 1, or even 1 to 1. Vegetable oils make that ratio 20 to 1.
This outrageous ratio of omega-6 fatty acids means that every time you eat vegetable oils, or foods fried in vegetable oils, you are slowly increasing your chances of becoming obese, developing heart disease, and other types of degenerative disease that will cut your life short.
Use natural oils that have healthy attributes and healthy levels of omega-3s; oils such as avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oil, and grass-fed butter are all safe and natural alternatives.
4. Why Fast Food is Killing You
Again, no one needs to spell it out for you: fast food is not healthy, everyone knows that. Why then do people keep eating it? Because they don’t see any immediate harm.
