Top 5 Detox Soup Recipes
3. Lentil, Kale, and Sweet Potato Soup
Each of these food items in and of themselves are superfoods, so when you combine them, you have some superior nutrition. This one will feel like a 5 star restaurant soup and not a detox soup, which is part of its charm.
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup organic diced tomatoes, any variety
- 2 Cups of bone broth or plain water
- 1 Cup dried green lentils
- 1 Large organic sweet potato, cut into bite sized pieces
- 1 Medium organic onion, any variety
- 1 Organic red or green bell pepper, diced and seeds removed
- 1 Tablespoon turmeric or curry powder
- Pinch of cumin
- 3 Cloves organic garlic, peeled
- 1 Bunch of organic kale, coarsely chopped
- 2 Cups of water ( a total of 4 cups of liquid)
- 1 Small organic zucchini, quartered and diced
Instructions:
- Sauté the onion in a very small amount of olive oil for about 3 minutes.
- Add the garlic, curry (or turmeric), and sweet potato.
- Sauté for another 5 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, lentils, and all the liquid.
- Simmer on low heat for about 45 to 50 minutes.
- Add the kale and green or red pepper.
- Cook another 10 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
