Top 5 Foods to Detox Your Body from GMO’s


Sometimes detoxing can be terribly hard on your body and, for some people, it causes rather uncomfortable side effects. However, those pesticides, GMO’s and other toxins have to go.

Usually the substances being removed are very nasty toxic chemicals that come from the byproducts of GMO foods, heavy metals, pesticide residue, free radicals, radiation, chemotherapy, and pharmaceutical drugs. The techniques listed below might take a slightly longer time to complete but they will be gentle to your body.

1. Cilantro

This is a rich herb that is one of the most effective ways to remove heavy metals, mercury, and other types of contamination in a gentle manner. Include this fresh herb in your diet either in a pesto, in salads, guacamole, in your green smoothie, or many health foods stores sell cilantro juice. Cilantro is one of those easy to grow herbs that you can grow right in a sunny kitchen window. This herb has antibacterial as well as anti-fungal properties that can reduce inflammation, and infection as it removes toxins from your system. 2. Fruit Pectin

This is the gentlest way to detox and it comes from the fibrous part of the fruit. You can find it in the pith of limes, apples, lemons, bananas, grapes, carrots, and cabbage. Pectin helps the body to release heavy metals and chemicals into the blood stream, then binds to them and removes them from the body. Simply eating fruit and vegetables that are high in pectin will help to remove toxins from your system. You can also add a pectin product to water or fresh juice. This will help to speed up the detox process even further. Be sure to read labels before you buy any type of pectin as some brands may contain MSG.

 

3. Wheatgrass

The juicing of fresh, organic produce and grasses such as barely or wheat grass is a terrific way to remove toxic compounds and heavy metals from the body. Wheat grass is super high in minerals as well as all nine essential amino acids. Wheatgrass has a very high nutritional base and has a multitude of vitamins. This is a powerful detox, however, so to avoid any unpleasant side effects, you should start slowly with only a small amount, perhaps as little as a half an ounce per day, and slowly work yourself up to greater quantities.

 

4. Probiotics and fermented foods

When your digestive system is in top working order, it can more easily deal with foreign invaders such as GMO’s. Eat plenty of fermented foods such as kimchi, sauerkraut, and pickles. You should also be taking a high quality probiotic supplement to ensure that your gut bacteria can break down, as well as eliminate, toxic or harmful substances that are in your food.

 

5. Organic sulfur

Using organic sulfur for detoxing your liver is highly recommended! Organic sulfur is critical for energy production, getting oxygen to your cells, and helping the liver remove toxins from the body and from itself. Although we used to be able to get sufficient amounts from our foods, you should now buy organic, lignin based sulfur crystals at your health food store or online to ensure that you are getting sufficient amounts.

Gentle detoxing methods will require that you repeat the treatment over a period of time, until any and all symptoms have disappeared. Some possible side effects may include nausea, aches and pains, vomiting, and dizziness. Also, some people find that when they detox their symptoms flare up even worse than before, don’t stress out if this happens. It’s merely the toxins leaving your body and these things should pass soon. If the side effects become too severe, then cut back on whatever method it is that you are using for your detox until the symptoms subside.

    Listen Up Detox Readers! I am in Month #10 (Treatment Protocol #5) for self-directed, alternative cancer treatment, and in month 4 I eliminated a Liver Tumor as per MRI, but more importantly, I believe I also eliminated what was early stage Breast, Esophogheal, and CR (Colorectal) Cancers as well. A 6 month daily dish was extremely important to my success and it goes like this: cut off with a knife, the outer layer of colored skin of a pink (preferably) grapefruit, leaving as much white on as possible (the flavonoids, rutins, etc are found mostly in the white of citrus)…grate over this 1-2 thumbs of peeled (eliminates mold often found on skins) fresh ginger root….and mix in 1/4 – 1/2 cut of minced cilantro. If I need protein and healthy fats I add 2 tablespoons of freshly ground seeds (pumpkin, chia, hemp, flax) or ground nuts (almonds or my favorite brazil nuts for the immune enhancing selenium – 6 total is recommended to meet daily selenium needs). This “Desert Salad” as I call it is DELICIOUS as well as a cornerstone for my anti-cancer detox diet which uses food-as-medicine and I believe was instrumental in achieving most of the heavy metal detox I have behind me…..it also softens the misery of the actual detoxifiation process which makes you feel literally sick.

      Ariel, could you provide more info or links about your alternative treatment?
      As it is self-directed, did you follow any other,for example, juicing/raw/fasting programs?

        Debra, the number of programs, articles, medical studies, and plant-based options is rich. The real issue is that most people look for others to tell them what to do. If we do not have the cash or insurance coverage to go to an alternative cancer treatment center, we must learn to become our own Naturopathic Oncologist and Herbalist, and this process will take over your life and there is no leap-frogging to the correct instructions for your particular healing needs. So, the first thing that must happen is to get into the drivers seat about your medical issues, and this needs to begin (so long as it is available) on the Internet. The self-treatment approaches are exploding with daily new options being published online. My “program” is complex, constantly changing, and multi-disciplinary. I have used large quantities of about 20 herbs, flowers, mushrooms, roots, barks, leaves, and essential oils, as well as evolving targeted dietary approaches. The point is that unless and until we quit looking to others for secondary information, and begin to research what WE need, then to implement one’s own program as the Natural Scientist that we are, no ideas will be the correct ones. Reversing major medical issues through medicine foods is the single most powerful spiritual development experience of my lifetime, and I believe it is because it facilitated my returning to my Animal Nature. So, this is a long way of saying, Yes I used all approaches – and still do, that would be obvious choices. It is the customization, vetting, and biofeedback function which matters most. Get started!
