A Week’s Worth of Green Smoothies So Good You Won’t Believe They Can Detox Too!

Are you interested in making some super detoxing green smoothies, but worry that the taste will keep you from sticking to the program?

Every single day we take toxins into our bodies; the air we breathe, food additives, and chemical cleaners all contain toxins. Every single one of us could really use a good detox now and then to help flush these toxins out of our bodies. One way to do this is by supporting our body’s natural detoxification process with green smoothies.

We have six green smoothie recipes that contain powerful detoxing agents. Best of all, these taste so good you might want to repeat them the next week. Maybe even the week after that!

So get ready to detox, friends, because with smoothies as good as these, you will probably forget that they are super healthy. All you will remember is that they are super delicious!

 

1.  Super Kale Super Smoothie

In case you haven’t heard, kale is the new spinach. It’s so full of nutrition, with next to zero calories, so you should be eating it at least a couple of times per week. Read more why kale is one of the healthiest foods on the planet.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Large handful of kale
  • ½ an organic apple, seeds removed (any variety)
  • 1 Cup of coconut water

Instructions:

  • If you are using curly kale, cut off the ribs in the center of the leaf or use baby kale.
  • Put everything in your blender or food processor and mix on high until creamy smooth.

2. Spicy Green Ginger Smoothie

Ginger is one of the best herbs around for detox. It can definitely spice things up a bit, but combined with cinnamon, it gives you super anti-inflammatory compounds that really wake up your taste buds!

Ingredients:

  • 1 One inch piece of fresh, organic ginger root
  • 1 Teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 Large handful of baby spinach
  • 1 Cup of pure water

Instructions:

  • Cut the ginger up into very small pieces.
  • Place everything in the blender or food processor and mix until super smooth.
  • Enjoy!

3. Super Green Super Clean Smoothie

This is a fun smoothie because you simply use anything green. Open your fridge and if it’s green, take it out to use in this smoothie. The exception would be anything with green mold; those you can throw in the trash!

Ingredients:

  • ½ of an organic avocado
  • 1 Organic celery stalk
  • 1 Small handful of baby spinach or other type of leafy green
  • ¼ Organic cucumber
  • 2 Sprigs of fresh mint
  • 1 Organic kiwi fruit
  • ½ Organic apple, seeded (any variety)
  • Juice from ½ organic lemon
  • 1 Cup of pure water

Instructions:

  • If you have any other greens in your fridge, don’t be shy! Add a handful of whatever you find to this smoothie.
  • Place everything in your blender or food processor and mix on high until smooth.
  • Drink immediately. You can drink this over ice if you like.

4.  Super Slimming Detox Smoothie

If you want to lose a few pounds and detox at the same time, then this is the smoothie for you. The protein powder in this one will help you to develop lean muscle. It will also help to satisfy you until lunchtime.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Scoop of protein powder of your choice (pea powder is a good option)
  • 1 Cup of freshly brewed green tea, cooled to room temperature
  • ½ Organic peach ( or use ½ cup of frozen non-sweetened peaches)

Instructions:

  • Add everything to your blender or food processor.
  • Mix on high until smooth.
  • Pour over ice if you like or drink as is.

5. Extremely Tasty Detox Smoothie

Some of the best detox foods don’t work well in a smoothie (onion and garlic anyone?) but this mix makes a good tasting smoothie you won’t make a face about after drinking.

Ingredients:

  • ½ Large, organic carrot (wash it well but don’t peel it)
  • ½ Organic pear (any variety, don’t peel it but remove any seeds)
  • ½ Cup of organic broccoli florets, lightly steamed
  • 1 Cup of pure water

Instructions:

  • Chop everything into small pieces for easier blending.
  • Place all items in your blender or food processor and mix until super smooth.

6.  Super Sweet Heavenly Detox Smoothie

For those of you with a sweet tooth, we have the perfect smoothie for you! This one tastes like forbidden fruit, instead of a healthy detoxifying drink!

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cups organic baby spinach
  • 3 Cups of frozen diced pineapple
  • 1 Cup of organic, frozen diced banana
  • 1 Organic celery stalk
  • 1 Tablespoon of freshly grated organic ginger root
  • 1 Tablespoon of chia seeds
  • Juice from half of a fresh, organic lime

Ingredients:

  • Place all items in your blender or food processor and blend until super smooth.
  • You can add a bit of water or juice if it seems a little thick.
  • Enjoy!
